New Music: Flat Party – I’m Bored, Give Me Love

Flat Party stand out from the pack in terms of being influenced by classic bands. Eschewing the more obvious rock and shoegaze reference points, new single I’m Bored, Give Me Love is an acerbic leftfield bop in the vein of Sparks, Suede, and Big Star, albeit in a modern indie style.

Says band member Jack Lawther about the driving force behind the sounds of I’m Bored, Give Me Love, “Rory (Flat Party’s vocalist and guitarist) and I have had similar upbringings, we both grew up in towns devoid of any real culture and so music, art and literature were the only things that excited us.”

“I think this is why our lyrics are very visual. We want to paint worlds for people to step into for three minutes and just forget about everything else.”

There’ll be more music from Flat Party in 2024. The band embark on a headline UK tour this November, along with an appearance at Rotterdam’s Left of the Dial festival.
