New Music: HALLOWS – Wear You Out
Los Angeles electronic duo HALLOWS hit the dark Italo trail on their new track, Wear You Out.
Another moody electro banger from their upcoming Dream album, the band have again teamed up with the top-drawer producer Matia Simovich, as HALLOWS – Vanee Dusoruth and Dom Rolando – serve up another erotic example of the duo’s sensual but glacial dark pop, tense as it negotiates desire and the danger of it ending in disaster.
While Italo has a noticeable presence on the song, it also possesses that sonically minimal, emotionally maximal sound that HALLOWS and Simovich do so well. You will want to get hot and sweaty to Wear You Out on the dance floor, but if you play your cards – and the song – right, its mesmerising spell won’t end there. If you’re a fan of Riki, Boy Harsher, or ACTORS, then HALLOWS will be a worthy addition to your playlists.
Head to Bandcamp to order Dream in vinyl and CD formats – there are a few test pressings on the go as well! The album is set for release on the 5th of June via Artoffact. It will also be available on cassette on Phage Tapes.
You can listen to Wear You Out and more music from HALLOWS on Apple Music and Spotify – check out their Facebook and Instagram feeds for other streaming options, and news of upcoming gigs, including The Coffin Club in Portland on the 30th of May.
