New Music: Lazyeyes – Echoes

New Music: Lazyeyes – Echoes

Published On: June 27th, 2018|

Ney York indie quartet Lazyeyes have made quite an impression over the last few years with a series of excellent EPs, but it’s taken until 2018 for the band to release their debut album. To tie in with that they’re dropped the title track of the album, Echoes, as a single. Check it out below.

With a sound that’s a muscular and angular take on the shoegaze/dreampop genres, Echoes is an intriguing and engaging song. Swirling and sprawling like a boxer in full flow, the track takes no prisoners as it punches its way to a breath-taking musical K.O. courtesy of the understated hints of Gang of Four and Clan of Xymox lurking in the mix.  Echoes looks to the past but doesn’t live there, making the track sound fresh, fearsome and feisty.

Echoes and its parent album are out now via Egghunt Records and it is available on Bandcamp in a limited-edition vinyl format. It can also be streamed on Spotify. The band are just coming off a tour in support of the album but be sure to keep an eye on their Facebook page for more live dates.
