New Music: Loraine Club – Desire

Irish sextet Loraine Club say they gain inspiration from a wide range of influences – pop, disco, funk & chillwave – to name a few. Desire, from the four track EP of the same name, is a retro-infused highlight on an impressive release.

Fuzzy and summery, the song is an effortless, energising, groove-filled jam. Taking cues from the sounds of funk, disco, and New Wave, the song pitches itself somewhere between the cosmic disco of Empire of the Sun and the sophisticated electro of Air. Is intelligent disco a thing? It should be!

The Desire EP is out now to stream on Apple Music and Spotify. Be sure to check out Loraine Club on Facebook and Instagram for news on the EP, live dates, and new music from the band. The band plays The Workman’s Club in Dublin on 19^th of November.
