New Music: Madame Gandhi – See Me Thru

Though a solo artist in her own right, electronic musician and activist Madame Gandhi has also worked with high profile artists like M.I.A, TV on the Radio, Kehlani, and Lizzo. For her new single See Me Thru she’s worked with Ania Catherine and Dejha Ti on an accompanying video. Check it out below.

Sensual, spiky soul with a very DNB/grime twist to the percussion, See Me Thru is both romantic and quietly radical. It’s a love song but rather than focusing just on the feelings of joy and occasional pain it brings, the song goes somewhere more profound and insightful. Taking stock of the psychological and personal changes associated with such intense emotions, this is a fluid, fierce expression of the wild fusion and independence that love can bring.

Gandhi had this to say about the lyrics of the track: “See Me Thru is about seeing a relationship through. We are in a generation where we are bombarded with choice and with new ideas at an unprecedented rate! As a result, we move through ideas, jobs and people so quickly.

This song is about valuing consistency – about seeing consistency as today’s new social currency. If the last decade was about spontaneity, I believe this decade will be about following up and doing what we say we’ll do. I wanted to write a song that celebrated lovers who are brave enough to go deep with their significant other, knowing the blissfulness that might be awaiting them on the other side.”

See Me Thru features on Madame Gandhi’s Visions EP, which you can listen to on Spotify and Apple Music.  You can find out more about the artist, her music, and her activism in tech, the arts and other areas over on Facebook and Instagram.
