New Music: oddnesse – Hot Air

New track Hot Air sees oddnesse make her third appearance on the blog. Following on from All American Lie and Summer’s Almost Over, the song shows she still has the knack for turning out sublime indie-pop.

Dreamy pop over a motorik beat, Hot Air has a pulsating, hypnotic energy to it that’s hard to resist. It’s far too easy to get lost in the lush, driving rhythms, such is their sonic charm, but Rebeca Arango’s mellow, soothing vocals gently keep the listener tethered to her take on reality.

The singer says about Hot Air, “I think there is a tendency to judge abstract lyrics as less meaningful, less emotional, less accessible. While this song doesn’t deal with earthly relatable matters of love and loss, to me it’s just as meaningful as some of my popular break-up songs. These lyrics contemplate dreams and death and our relationship with the Universe, conjuring fear and majesty, taking a playful approach to the unknown. Ultimately. it’s a song about transformation and spiritual travel and vastness.”

Hot Air is out now, and you can listen to the track on Spotify, Apple Music, and all major streaming platforms. Head over to her Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter socials for details on how to listen to the song, as well as keeping up to date with news about upcoming releases.
