New Music: Primal Baby x Parrish Smith x Mila V – Real Talk

Primal Baby, the new project from Dutch musicians Parrish Smith and Mila V, gives industrial pop a rock attitude with a strong message on Real Talk.

That rock attitude is led by fierce and uncompromising vocals and lyrics, pushing the listener’s emotions and expectations ever further from their comfort zone.

The arrangement does display an influence of Nine Inch Nails and Ministry at their most claustrophobic and electronic, but Primal Baby overlay that with Björk-like hooks and beats that will get you joining in with the visceral and stark lyrics.

“Our second single, Real Talk, is an anthemic autism anthem, a fight song for those forced to erase everything that makes them who they are,” says the duo. “Every day brings a silent cure, a longing to be “more.” Our neurodiverse minds follow their own pathways, relying on personalized structure and repetition to thrive.”

“Yet the systems around us demand we block those paths and become something we’re not. The unique self gets hidden in illusion. We might break that illusion early or much later on the road, but it’s never too late to realize that real talk has no meaning.”
