Detroit indie-rock outfit sock jock wraps some acidly acerbic lyrics up in the sweet, lo-fi, 90s-inspired sounds of curtain.

You certainly don’t want curtain to be about you, because the shade being thrown here would cover an entire continent. What really drives that home is the intimate vocal delivery, a bit folky at times, letting the words do the work, amplifying their pain and betrayal in a style that makes you believe they come straight from a broken heart.

Hook-driven with a chorus as sharp as a stiletto, curtain is a slice of life, real or not, that is worth sharing with fans of Snail Mail, The Breeders and Veruca Salt to get that 90s beat happening.
