New Music: Spire Circle – Falling Short

Now expanded to a live four-piece, Manchester-based Spire Circle prepare for their second album by sharing Falling Short.

Spire Circle’s sound owes much to dark wave, moody and melancholic, but here, the band looks to futurepop to ground the synth melody and overall flow of the track. The blending of optimism and heartache finds itself resonating in the almost gothic rock terrain of the rhythm section, and the industrial pop of the vocals.

Given that the band members have explored very diverse sounds in their other musical projects, the fluid, genre-fracturing nature of Falling Short is a testament to their ability to recognise each other’s skills and strengths, finding unity in diversity.
