New Music: Zosia – Alibi

Alibi marks an important creative milestone for Los Angeles based singer/songwriter/producer Zosia. Not only that, the track has all the hallmarks of a sad banger classic in the making.

Dark pop with a glowing, gothic undertow, Alibi is an understated but effective emotional tour de force, one whose lyrics – and stunning vocal performance – will sweep you away.

The arrangement nods towards noirish cinema and synthwave sounds at times, reinforcing the sense that more than a simple story is at play here. Rather, it’s a critique of society told from a personal viewpoint, one that is easy to relate to in these turbulent times.

“Alibi was inspired by our culture’s fascination with con artists,” reveals Zosia. “Why have we become so obsessed with these immoral people, chronicling them in the media without end, and even idolizing them?”

“Alibi is my first release that I produced 100%, so it’s extra special for me. I love collaborating with other producers, but it’s also so rewarding to complete a song on my own.”
