About the tracks
Coco: My taste these days tends to gravitate more towards experimental stuff, like noise and other weird genres. But I regularly make playlists for my friends (and to archive the music I like over the years), and approached this as a selection of tracks from these past compilations that I thought matched the kind of music we make — heavy focus on drum machines, synths, dark vibes, etc.
Gigi: I took a different approach, focusing only on recent bands and ones I’ve enjoyed live. Initially, I wanted the playlist to feature a progression from punk and post-punk to electronics and darker artists. But we eventually mixed everything together, and it turned out pretty good. It goes from fun and danceable songs, to sad tunes, to tracks that barely have any melody or rhythm. At the end of the day, it represents us better!
