About the tracks
Making a mixtape of only 20 songs was just as hard as when we had to fit them onto actual tapes. I’ve chosen music that has changed my life, been with me through things I’d rather not be experiencing, and influenced my own music. The result is an eclectic playlist pulled together by common threads of strangeness, lyricism and experimentalism. From earlier influences which steered me towards electronica, through the music that has stayed with me through adulthood, and finally to more recent influences.
Most of the tracks I’ve chosen are electronic, spanning a range of sub-genres, with a bit of metal, some stoner rock, and a bit of indie. I book-ended this mixtape with TVAM, partly because they have influenced my sound a lot on my more recent material, and partly because I hope you’ll love their music as much as I do.
