New Music: Caoilfhionn Rose – Unravelled

Based in our home city of Manchester, singer, songwriter and producer Caoilfhionn Rose is another shining example of the musical beauty and majestic artistry that the city’s performers have to offer –  watch the video for Unravelled and you’ll quickly find out why.

Durutti Column meets Dusty in Memphis for some afternoon cocktails – the song is slinky and sultry, the rhythm section creating an air of pure seduction. Rose’s voice floats like an angel over such temptation, rich like velvet, deflecting from the emotional desire that hides so subtly in the lyrics.

It’s a song for lovers, for those that want to tell another they want to be their lover, all harking back to a classic, 1950s era of romance. In fact, it makes a damn good attempt on bringing those days back, all on its own!

Unravelled is out now via Gondwana Records and is taken from her debut album Awaken which is available in CD and vinyl versions, as well as digital download and streaming. Check here to find out more.
