New Music: Secret Treehouse – Ice Turns To Ash

Norway’s Secret Treehouse saw 2019 out in style with their album The Big Rewind.  After starting 2020 with At Sunrise, they’re back on the blog again with another barnstormer of a song, Ice Turns To Ash.

The song was inspired by the film Lost in Translation which does explain the glistening and cinematic quality that flows through its every moment. The subtle changes in tone and tempo add to the emotion that pervades the lyrics and vocal performance, as the tight, hypnotic rhythm of the arrangement creates the perfect, precisely calibrated backdrop for this exploration of the senses.

Talking about the process that led to the creation of the song, the band reveals they “envision a million lights in a smoggy city, but still a lot of color from neon lights, running through the streets. Pain of your own relationship mixed with the positive emotions with the other person. They kind of save each other, by either realising that what they have is wrong, or what they have can actually be right.”

Ice Turns To Ash can be streamed and downloaded on all major outlets, including Spotify.  Check out Secret Treehouse on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, where you can find out more about the band and their music.
