New Music: Neon Empire – To Our Memories
Dublin quartet Neon Empire describe their rather individual sound as ‘electronic metalcore,’ and once you hear To Our Memories, you’ll know exactly what they mean.
The accompanying video captures much of the essence of the song: positive and fun, but with a hint of sadness knowing that at some point the party will end. Musically, the song parlays elements of electronica into a rock sound reminiscent of Enter Shikari or The Qemists, all while trending into post-hardcore at times.

Neon Empire also embroider a noticeable hint of pop-punk energy into To Our Memories’ high-octane sound, but shift it somewhere darker and harder, so that you really do understand what the band means by ‘electronic metalcore.’ You can dance to it, mosh to it, even create your own circle pit, but best of all, it’s powerful, passionate, and positive.
“To Our Memories has been considered a spiritual successor to one of our first songs released, called Crave, bringing back a more positive party vibe,” says the band. “Crave held the title at live shows as our official party anthem.”
“We filmed a music video to fit the vibe of the song, throwing back to memories of being a teenager and having fun, drawing inspiration from popular music videos at the time, such as Enter Shikari’s Sorry You’re Not a Winner and In Friends We Trust by Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!”

Neon Empire play a series of UK dates this July, with appearances in London, Manchester, and Birmingham already announced. For ticket details and other listening options for To The Memories, check out the band’s Facebook and Instagram socials.
