New Music: soft siren – Too Far Gone

Too Far Gone finds soft siren – a collaboration between – Sidewalks and Skeletons, Count the Clock, and CASHFORGOLD – exploring atmospheric 80s and 90s ambiences.

I do marvel at how the three producers – each with their own very defined sounds and visual aesthetics – have found a musical meeting place that is in itself very singular, so clearly formed and functional, yet very different from their respective solo works.

The shoegaze and dream pop inflections of previous single Dethereal have a presence here, but the band layers them over a surprisingly funky drum pattern, as waves of synths shimmer and sparkle wistfully. Too Far Gone has all the airs and emotions of 80s and 90s 4AD – beautifully sculpted indie music that is creative, cinematic, and calming.
