New Music: Corpus Delicti – Fate

On Fate, as throughout their new Liminal album, French outfit Corpus Delicti show modern audiences how the band influenced genres from gothic rock to post-punk.

After the band’s reputation grew in their absence, the band returned to the live scene in 2022 to such a great reception that it was destined that new music was also on the horizon.

And what music! Fate looks to a shadowy netherworld between genres for its spectral essence, post-punk with a hypnotic clarity born from the embers of the band’s own music, and 90s contemporaries like The Mission, Christian Death, and The Psychedelic Furs.

A real strength to the LP is how the vocals of Sébastien Pietrapiana are not hidden in the mix; rather, their prominence adds to the dark romance of Fate and the album as a whole, a presence that will fill any heartache in your life with beauty and a poignant desolation.

Corpus Delicti have announced a UK tour for February 2026, with dates including Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol, London, and Portsmouth. European dates are also in the pipeline for next year.

Liminal is available on Bandcamp in vinyl, CD, and digital formats. Make your way to the band’s Facebook and Instagram socials for album streaming options, and ticket and venue details of upcoming live dates including that UK tour.
