New Music: Soft Faith – A Place to Hide ft. Heather Nation

Born from a difficult period in the life of Soft Faith’s lead vocalist Aaron Thompson, A Place to Hide is equally hard and tender.

The New York duo are joined by Heather Nation on vocals, as the track blends a dark wave arrangement into a sound that carries melancholia and an air of mourning to it. Finding its source in Thompson’s divorce, the lyrics hit a balance of clarity and turmoil that can accompany traumatic life events. They leave Thompson exposed emotionally, deploying imagery that really hits home, passion and pain presented to the listener without fear or favour, a living document of what couldn’t have been an easy life experience.

A Place to Hide is accompanied by Castles and Cathedrals as a double single, and both songs will appear on Soft Faith’s self-titled debut album, due out on the 26th of June. For album updates and pre-save options, head over to the band’s Instagram account.
