New Music: 49th & Main – Can’t Walk Away (Feat. A Little Sound)

Irish duo 49th & Main have teamed up with DNB producer and vocalist A Little Sound on the genre-busting bop that is Can’t Walk Away.

It had its worldwide premiere on BBC Radio 1 this week, and on hearing the track, it’s easy to understand why. The collaboration sees producer Ben O’Sullivan and vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Paddy King bring together some unlikely but surprisingly complementary influences.

Summery shades of DNB and trap give the song a solid yet light foundation, a quality amplified by a dreampop style guitar and a wonderfully emotive vocal performances that bring a very indie sensibility into a fresh and innovative sound.

Special shoutout too for A Little Sound who brings an electrifying hint of alt.rock melancholy that lifts the song somewhere even more anthemic. You’re going to hear this track a lot this summer.

49th & Main tour the UK this November. For venue and ticket details, as well as other streaming options for their music; be sure to like and follow the duo on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok. Can’t Walk Away (Feat. A Little Sound) can be downloaded on Bandcamp.
