New Music: Athena Kay – Utopian Dream

London based artist Athena Kay enlisted producer HalfCrescent on her new single Utopian Dream after working on the song in her home studio. The result is a rich gem full of ambient soul goodness.

Athena is a classically trained singer who cites artists such as Massive Attack and Royksopp as influences, and that’s something you can pick up on here. Ambient electronic touches add a light feel to the arrangement, as the melody flows smoothly under a vocal performance that is warm, confident, and entrancing. Utopian Dream is a welcome moment of calm in an increasingly frenetic world.

Speaking about Utopian Dream, she says, “The track is about the dream that is more and more occurring nowadays, where people are reaching out for better things in life caught up by superficial reality. Running in a wheel of the world’s pace and letting their life pass people forget about real happiness and its value. It is to mention that this song is a reflection of what has been happening lately in the world of 2020, giving a hope that people will start focusing on each other instead of being drawn by their concerns of individual success.”

Utopian Dream can also be streamed on Spotify, head to Athena’s Instagram and Facebook socials for more details on how to listen to the song, as well as keeping up to date with news about upcoming releases.
