New Music: Azure Blue – Visions and Themes
Visions and Themes sees Azure Blue – the musical project of Swedish musician Tobias Isaksson – give us a moving insight into the upcoming The Night of the Stars album.
For a track that is analogue in nature, Visions and Themes features some incredibly warm tones in the retro synths and yearning melody. A hint of melancholy underpins that ambience, one that is reinforced by the nods to futurepop, synthwave, and classic 80s synthpop in the arrangement. It makes a fitting and sensitive setting for lyrics that explore moments of loving, dreaming, and doubt.

Says Isaksson about the track, “Visions and Themes, and the whole album is an analog dream in a time plagued by androids dreaming of electronic sheep. While some write 100s of songs with the help of AI, I have put 100s of hours on craft pop with analog hardware.”
The Night of the Stars is the sixth album from Azure Blue and is set for release on the 22nd of November via three labels: Sweden’s Hybris, America’s Matinée Recordings, and Germany’s Anna Logue Records. Check out Azure Blue and Isaksson on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter for pre-order news.
