New Music: Baudelaire – Lose the Feeling
Black Country-based post-punk adjacent sextet BAUDELAIRE thrilled us with the power pop and New Wave tones of their latest single, Lose the Feeling. The track’s energy comes in large part from the powerful and emotionally intense vocals of Danny Owens.
While the track opens with an EBM-style duel between icy vocals and a rumbling electronic bassline, it quickly expands into something more romantic and dramatic.
With an emphasis on utilising quality song writing to convey extra layers of meaning, the words set the mood of Lose the Meaning as much as the arrangement does.
The latter’s twists and turns evokes comparisons with 80s legends Ultravox and current day HMLTD, Walt Disco, and The Murder Capital. And with and ending like that, you just know this will rock live!

Says the band, “Lose the Feeling is an exploration into the isolation, detachment, and alienation someone can feel when they live their lives through the eyes of another.”
Lose The Feeling is also streaming on Apple Music and YouTube as well as all major online music platforms.
