New Music: Bev Rage & the Drinks – Hollywood Drinks

Hollywood Beach is a prime cut from Bev Rage & the Drinks’ sophomore LP Exes & Hexes. The beach is an important part of Chicago’s LGBTQ+ culture, and Bev Rage & the Drinks should be as well – if they aren’t already. The video is a hoot!

Hollywood Beach is a dollop of garage punk mixed in with some social commentary and a lot of dry humour. Sassy asides give way to talk of first times as the quartet pitch their tight but raw sound somewhere between The Ramones and Pansy Division, while the lyrics evoke The B-52s at their witty best.
