New Music: Daniel Angelus – Reflection

  • New Music: Daniel Angelus - Reflection

Solo artist Daniel Angelus has followed up his guest slot with underrated pop maestros Real Experts with his second solo album Wired for Heartbreak, from which the track Reflection is taken.

Moody and poignant, Angelus’ voice is reminiscent of David Bowie at his most reflective, circa his Tonight period, infused with soulfulness and emotion, yet offering a hint of danger within its warm embrace.

The arrangement captures a similar aura of menace mixed with melancholy, yet the slowly unfolding nature of the song and the light but icy feel to the melody, allied with the stark lyrics, create the feeling of being comfortable in loss, but still wishing to be elsewhere, or to be more fulfilled emotionally if the opportunity arises.

Reflection and Wired for Heartbreak are both out now, streaming on Spotify and other digital outlets as well as being available in CD format – you can find out more here.
