New Music: Jack Manley – Way Loud

Way Loud is more than just part of an ongoing musical rebirth for Jack Manley, known for his work as frontman of Cosmonaut, Spires, and The Jennifer Shop.

The track blends the shimmering warmth of shoegaze with more visceral, opaque post-punk tones, as moments of calm are followed by cathartic howls, in turn swapped out for ambrosial bliss.

That follows on into the lyrics, as Manley reflects on his life when in emotional and personal recovery in the wake of a near-fatal overdose. Recovery is hard, as is sharing your innermost self, and to do so in an intimate, open fashion must be harder still.
