New Music: Killjoy & The Cutthroats – Running

Published On: June 11th, 2020|

New Mexico’s Killjoy and The Cutthroats pair an original sound with an equally inventive video on their track Running. You can check out the video below.

Like the video, the song exists in some forgotten or just plain imaginary realm of late-night TV esoterica. David Lynch, Orville Peck, B-movies, and post-punk are thrown into a witches’ cauldron of creativity. With so much going on in the lyrics, arrangement, and video, it’s probably best to simply watch it a few times in a row. Let it wash over you, take in details as they come to the fore, and enjoy this ‘melodrama as music’ for the offbeat art that it is.

Running can be streamed or downloaded on Bandcamp. Be sure to check the band out over on Facebook and Instagram to discover more about them and their music.
