New Music: Kite – Changing

Published On: December 25th, 2020|

Kite return to the blog for the third time this year with new track Changing, which again sees them team up with Ben John Power (Fuck Buttons/Blanck Mass). Singer Nicklas Stenemo and keyboard player Christian Berg demonstrate their penchant for anthemic melancholy, as you can hear below.

There’s an undercurrent of the 80s and synthwave to the track that’s not previously been noticed by me in their sound. The song is pure Kite: sharp, uplifting – but with a hint of sadness, a drive and energy coming through in every note, every line of the lyrics, capturing the essence of what makes their live shows must-see events.

You can listen to Changing and more music from Kite on Apple Music, Bandcamp, and Spotify. Be sure to check the band’s Facebook or Instagram accounts for information on the band and other streaming options for the track, which is out now via Astronaut Recordings.

You can watch the video of their full performance at the Royal Opera in Stockholm here.
