The release of Berlin-based musician Laura Carbone’s album Laura Carbone – Live at Rockpalast is fast approaching. New single and the accompanying video for Who’s Gonna Save You gives us an idea of what treats lie in store.

The song takes elements of the fuzzy, warm sound of the Velvet Underground and classic 70s rock and brings their darker tones out into daylight. It’s something that works well for what is an unusual album concept, comprised of new music recorded live, she says, with no overdubs. Carbone’s brooding, dominant vocals and the rhythm section bring a Gothic edge to the song, but puts melody over mood to devastating effect.

Who’s Gonna Save You and more music from Laura Carbone can be streamed on Spotify. Laura Carbone – Live at Rockpalast is released on the 4th of December and can be pre-ordered in vinyl format on Bandcamp.

Head over to Carbone’s Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter socials for more details on how to listen to the song, as well as keeping up to date with news about the album.
