New Music: More Ephemerol – Disengagement Ring

The re-emergence of electroclash gathers pace with Disengagement Ring, the first new music from More Ephemerol in two years.

It also sees the first official release with lead vocalist and songwriter Gina Kuhn. The interplay between Kuhn and Chad Fjerstad on vocals shifts the song into a highly disciplined early 80s milieu, with the pre-fame music of The Human League and Depeche Mode instantly coming to mind.

That maintains its presence in the arrangement, but Kuhn and Fjerstad inject the track with a Devo meets riot grrrl attitude as well; so that as fearsome as the lyrics may be; More Ephemerol focus on getting you to moving, physically and emotionally.
