New Music: Shadowing – No Relief

Portland’s Shadowing have followed up their Rain Song debut with No Relief, another track from their Body Neutral EP.

Shadowing – producer and multi‑instrumentalist Keil Corcoran of STRFKR, joined by guitarist and King Dude collaborator Justin Pittney, aka Lexicon Devil – leans into the punk side of the post-punk at times, raw and loud, before smoothly switching to a less visceral but equally emotive sound.

It’s melodic but emotionally and sonically uncompromising, with hints of the band members’ other projects adding spiky surfaces and monochrome terrains.  If you like AFI, Racecar, and The Chameleons, put Body Neutral on your playlists now – you won’t regret it.

“This one hits closer to what Shadowing sounds like in our heads,” says Corcoran. “It’s darker, sharper – still melodic, but more relentless.”
