New Music: Soft Loft – Is It Me

Swiss collective Soft Loft release their debut EP In Case You Still Get Lonely on the 2nd of June. The Taylor Swift meets Fleetwood Mac tones of Is It Me makes it one to look forward to.

The band cites Joni Mitchell in the lyrics, and that artist’s brand of gentle yet confident emotional honesty is present throughout the song. From its organic indie arrangement right through to its heartfelt prose and especially poignant vocals, Is It Me makes its point by inviting the listener in, then bringing them on a heartfelt and revelatory journey.

Says vocalist Jorina about In Case You Still Get Lonely, “The title of the EP comes from a song that we saved for the album. There’s a line on there that says, ‘and you give me Joni in case I still get lonely.’ Joni Mitchell’s music helped me through all sorts of stuff over the years, and I hope that this EP will do that for others. That’s why it was so important for us to be this candid while addressing these topics: heartbreak, dealing with anxiety, self-worth, loss of identity, depression, etc.”
