Feeling like a realistic follow up to the classic Voodoo Ray, it uses the same hazy, hypnotic tribal rhythms but takes them in another direction. Instead of being a journey in hedonism and abandon, on Over & Out Sparrows takes us on a more reflective if not introspective journey.
It’s as if she is surveying the results of seeing too many sunrises on yet another summer-soaked beach (or a fruitless friendship?) and just maybe deciding that her path lies another way.
