New Music: Andrew Applepie – One More Song For You

Published On: April 2nd, 2020|

Back on the blog in double-quick time, One More Song For You is the follow-up to Losing from Andrew Applepie. Both songs are from his upcoming album Hate To Say I Told You So which is due out in May.

With his electronic roots still present in the song, there’s also much evidence of his expanding musical palette on display here. The electro-acoustic opening and the classical strings certainly bring an intimate tone to the forefront. But the brightness that normally features in his vocals and lyrics is tempered by a wistful and insightful quality. Think Beck meets Beatles circa 1968 – quirky percussion, psych-folk undertones, and an unsparing vision give centre stage to the maturity that underpins so much of his music.

Applepie has also recorded a video for the delightful acoustic version of the track, which you can watch on YouTube. You can catch up with Andrew over on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. One More Song For You is out now and can be streamed or downloaded on Spotify and Bandcamp – click here for more listening options.
