New Music: SUMif – Move Out

Published On: July 25th, 2020|

Very much a blog regular now, San Francisco’s SUMif says she is influenced by Scandinavian pop artists such as Tove Lo, Sigrid, and MØ. Move Out shows she has her own musical vision, as you can hear below.

Wells excels at creating lovepop, her bright and catchy sound commenting on the ups and downs of relationships. Lyrically, Move Out covers some difficult emotional terrain – what if your present hasn’t left their ex fully behind? The indie-electro feel to the arrangement and Wells’ heartfelt vocal performance pinpoint the complex emotions at play, while still providing an empowering message for those in relationships that aren’t going quite to plan.

Steph says about the song and new album, “I met someone who changed my world, and made me look at love and connection through a new lens,” Steph acknowledges. “It was crazy and romantic, but it felt real. I didn’t care if I got hurt—she could have had all of me.”

Head over to Wells’ Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter socials for details on how to listen to Move Out, and keep up to date with news about the upcoming album. You can also discover more about her work with the wayout LGBTQ+ youth project by following this link.
