New Music: Jupe Jupe – A Game Of Wait and See

Early 2026 sees the release of Jupe Jupe’s King of Sorrows album, but there’s still time to drop a new song in 2025.

A Game Of Wait and See won’t feature on the album but might give clues to what awaits us. Paranoia – is it paranoia if you are actually being watched but also watching? – and uncertainty are laced through the lyrics, as the steady beat of the track builds up the tension.

Jupe Jupe excel at making great statements in a low-key style, seeking to convince, not overwhelm, the listener, and do that here with skill and patience. Trending towards a lighter take on post-punk, it could easily find a home on indie playlists too; its sharpness and nods to 60s and 70s spy soundtracks feel surprisingly current.

New Music: Jupe Jupe – A Game Of Wait and See

“A Game Of Wait and See is… perfect for all who wrestle with ambiguity,” say Jupe Jupe. “Whether it’s a year from now or an hour from now, the uncertainty of outcomes can be unsettling the deeper we invest in the need and desire for something.”

“The vocals take us through the storm and stress of me-culture. Who among us hasn’t opened a hole inside themselves? We’ve invited in a type of pain that comes from attention-seeking/confirming software. Maybe we didn’t realize just how poisonous this syrupy social bunkum is. Maybe we can’t yet see the extent of rot on the cords that tether us.”

“But when the speed of social stimuli overwhelms the time lag of validation, the pain can be insidious. Slowly making the monsters out in the world less scary than the monsters in the mirror. What if they aren’t watching me? With outcomes unknown, we can only wait and see.”

Jupe Jupe play live in the Seattle area in the lead-up to Christmas – for venue details, streaming options for the band’s music, and news about King of Sorrows, head to Facebook or Instagram. King of Sorrows is out on the 27th of February 2026 and can be pre-ordered in vinyl and digital formats on Bandcamp.
