New Music: Vlado Nosal & The Avedons – Cold Cigarette

Cold Cigarette is the first solo single from Vlado Nosal, known for his work as the vocalist of Slovak indie rock band Queer Jane. The song shows that the Bratislava-born singer-songwriter knows how to deliver a low-key but incredibly enjoyable indie bop.

Cold Cigarette by Vlado Nosal & The Avedons

In partnership with his back-up band, The Avedons, Nosal employs a subtle, somewhat lo-fi approach to indie music. It doesn’t rock out, instead lulling the listener into a receptive reverie, one where the deadpan vocals and erudite lyrics can really hit home.

Be sure to watch the video, which contains a slew of clever moments that perfectly frame the insightful but at times whimsical mood of the song.

You can listen to and download Cold Cigarette on Bandcamp, while the single can also be streamed on Apple Music and Spotify.
