New Music: Twist Helix – Good Night Little England

Spain and England meet in the glorious sounds of Twist Helix, a trio that makes powerful pop with a purpose. We’ve covered Vultures and Louder from the band in recent months, and they follow that up with Good Night Little England, another song from their sophomore Machinery album.

Where the debut album Ouseburn was very much about their hometown of Newcastle, Good Night Little England sees the band gain inspiration from further afield. History, politics, and personal journeys are present in the lyrics, as Bea Garcias reflects not just on her own experience but that of England in the past and present.

The band’s confident lyrics are echoed by a similar sense of growth and power in the arrangement, with the band harnessing more of the electricity of their live performances in a studio setting.
